I walked around an entire country today, — only took about 20 minutes. I hadn’t even realized I had done it until I looked at the map later.
The Vatican is a strange place. It’s basically a church, a museum, and a big garden with an apartment for the Pope in it. That’s the whole country.
The visit and museum was interesting but I could only look at so many pictures, statues, and stained-glass pieces of Jesus before they all sort of blurred into one giant Jesus that was simultaneous a baby, dying by crucifixion, and being resurrected.
Predictably (but perhaps a bit closed-minded of me) my favourite part of the visit was the small exhibit the Vatican museum put together from gifts it has received from cultures from around the world.
